Vaillant Boiler Installation in Rayleigh

The Brief

The boiler serving this property sat in an attached garage and had reached the end of its working life. The job was a like-for-like replacement in the same position, done properly, with modern controls in place of the old dial on the wall.

The pipework around the old unit had been added to over the years and ran in several directions across the block wall. Part of the brief was simply to make the installation tidy, because a garage boiler is on show in a way a cupboard boiler is not.

What We Did

The work covered:

• Survey before quoting: Checked the flue route, the gas supply size, the condensate run and the existing radiator circuit so the price covered the whole job rather than the obvious part of it.
• Removed the old boiler: Isolated the gas and water, drained down, and took the old unit away along with the redundant pipework.
• Reworked the pipework: New copper runs set out cleanly on the block wall and properly clipped, with isolation valves where they are actually reachable.
• Flushed the system: Cleaned the existing heating circuit before the new boiler went on it, so the new heat exchanger was not inheriting years of sludge, and fitted a magnetic filter on the return.
• Installed and commissioned the Vaillant: New unit hung, flue fitted and sealed, gas rate set and a combustion analysis run. Everything recorded on the commissioning sheet.
• Fitted Hive controls: Paired and tested, with the heating and hot water schedules set up with the customer rather than left for them to work out.
• Handover and warranty: Walked the customer through the controls, handed over the paperwork and registered the manufacturer warranty on their behalf.

The Result

A reliable, efficient boiler in the same position as the old one, with pipework that is easy to follow and easy to isolate if anything ever needs attention. The system is clean and protected by a filter, so the new heat exchanger is not working against old debris.

The heating and hot water now run from a smart control rather than a wall dial, and the annual service goes on our reminder list so the warranty stays valid without the customer having to think about it.
